What I Wore: Wednesday 1/8/14

I realized recently that I’m in a transition stage in my life. I have finally noticed that nothing I really want in life is going to be handed to me. Nothing worth having, actually, will ever come easily. It’s up to me to work for what I want and to make sure that I stop at nothing to get it. To me, the fact that life moves so fast is exhilarating and inspires me to make the decision to make every day count and not waste any more time. This year, I’m vowing to focus all of my energy on things that will provide me and others with happiness. We are all responsible for creating our lives for ourselves. They can be anything we want them to be. That realization alone is enough to make me (and hopefully, others) want to get out there and make something of myself.

I’ve never felt so inspired before. I have always wanted to create a style blog but never felt that it would actually turn out to be worthwhile. I had feared that it would never amount to anything, and while this may be true, I’m no longer allowing fear to be something that holds me back. I hadn’t thought that this was something that I could really do. I’m doing it anyway now, and I am so excited to see how it will turn out. A few people had suggested the idea of creating a style blog to me and I always ignored it until recently when a friend gave me the push I finally needed. I’m drawing inspiration from so many different places these days and I’m lucky to have these areas of inspiration and a group of people supporting me as I finally put myself in gear. George Bernard Shaw once said, “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” Instead of waiting for a change to come, it is up to us to go out and make things happen.
